10/16 washington DC moved to

last winter starting on Christmas and ending on new years eve, jonathan meiberg, john congelton and i, recorded “gall.” they are astoundingly creative and inspired super villains and i feel crushed with pride at having been a part of this album. i would not normally say anything like this on our blog but, this record in particular means so much to me artistically and emotionally. we made it at a time when i was misdiagnosed with cystic fibrosis and i thought it might be the last music i would ever make. we had no plans as to what we would record in that week but i think because of the oddness of the dates, thoughts of an impending, final, suffocating doom and especially the intense ruby, hearts of jonathan and john we pushed each other into musical lava pits we would not have other wise been melted by. at the risk of embarrassing myself, to me, this is a special one.
